New HP Latex R1000 helps blink secure key contract

New HP Latex R1000 helps blink secure key contract with global brand.

Printed visual communications specialist blink has hailed the impact of its new HP Latex R1000 printer, revealing that the machine has already helped it to secure a contract with a global consumer brand, just weeks after installation.

Celebrating 21 years in business this year, blink produces a range of visual communications solutions including displays, packaging, and commercial print; both on a client-direct basis, as well as white-labelled for several major UK retail display agencies.

Counting major brands such as Hallmark, Nissan, Superdry, adidas, Deliveroo and Dior among its clientele, blink is committed to maintaining high standards not only with the quality of its work, but also the sustainability of its operations and the services it provides to its customers.

The environment is at the forefront of blink’s thoughts when it comes to investing in new technology. When the company was seeking a new printer to strengthen its production setup, the eco-conscious company invested in the HP Latex R1000 from approved HP partner Perfect Colours.

As well as meeting blink’s high standards in terms of output quality, the HP Latex R1000 also offers market-leading environmental credentials. By running water-based HP Latex inks the printer is a significantly more planet friendly option than comparable models.

As well as meeting blink’s high standards in terms of output quality, the HP Latex R1000 also offers market-leading environmental credentials.

“Following due diligence and comparison of the press against others on the market we realised that, for us, there really was only one choice,” blink Managing Director Esther Butterfield says. “The printer will enable us to do good while doing business, without compromising quality, thanks to the amazing colour reproduction and high-opacity whites it can achieve.

“The process used by the printer also brings with it added benefits for the health of our people when using the machine, with no UV or danger to operators from the handling of the water-based HP inks.”

The machine was installed in January 2023 and has had an instant impact on the business, helping it to win a major contract with a global consumer brand. blink used the HP Latex R1000 to run a ‘blind’ colour-match trial to satisfy the client that it could achieve accurate and consistent colour reproduction and meet exacting standards for brand guardianship across its retail marketing print.

Building on this initial success, Esther said blink will now seek out other clients to benefit from the high-quality output of the HP Latex R1000, coupled with its environmental credentials.

“The investment in the new HP printer was fundamental to our success in securing the contract with one of the world’s most famous brands,” Esther said. “Naturally, the HP Latex R1000 will also enable us to transform the sustainability credentials of print projects for many other clients – both existing and future ones.

“As we continue to grow the business and plans shape up for 2023 and beyond, the success we expect to see from the installation of the new HP press could well see blink make further investment in HP solutions.”
